In the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, you should know that some of the CARS members stepped up and served the community. This is what we are about, in times of need Amateur Radio can provide a valuable service to the community. During this event CARS members provided manpower to the EOC for CEMA and also the radio rooms for Memorial and Candler Hospitals in support of their Incident Operations Centers. They performed with the professionalism that we come to expect and were greatly appreciated by all who were involved with them. Led by Steve and Sue Jonas at CEMA, who pretty much were on duty through the entire event and others supporting them at CEMA and the two hospitals and included Lester Lamhut, Ken Griffin and Keven Bell. In addition, several members were on the air from home providing updates on conditions to CEMA. The Savannah Community saw what Ham Radio could do and your members all distinguished themselves.
