The CARS club has upped its game!! Our tech-pro Mike, KM4SPL, has installed APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System) on our location on top of the Talmadge Bridge. Mike has been working on this for quite some time. This has involved getting all of the parts put together, testing, and gaining access to the site which involves getting permission from GDOT. It has not been easy or quick.
The Digipeater/I-Gate project is in its early stages and Mike plans to continue testing and positioning the antenna for maximum coverage. Mike reports that it is being heard several hundred miles away. The frequency is 144.390.
